GLOBAL COASTLINE DATA FOR HI-TI Natural Earth ne_110m_coastline, repository release v5.1.2. Public domain; commercial reuse, redistribution and adaptation are permitted. Coastline description: https://www.naturalearthdata.com/downloads/110m-physical-vectors/110m-coastline/ Terms: https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/terms-of-use/ Pinned source: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nvkelso/natural-earth-vector/v5.1.2/geojson/ne_110m_coastline.geojson This project's compact asset stores WGS84 longitude, latitude as integers at 1/10000 degree precision. It preserves the source's generalized ocean-coast components except the enclosed Caspian Sea component. 133 lines, 5076 points. The scale is 1:110 million; the filename does not indicate 110-metre accuracy. Small islands, narrow bays and detailed local coastline can be missing. Storage precision does not establish positional accuracy or completeness. Great-circle interpolation identifies a representative coast, not a surveyed tide location, beach, bathymetric surface, navigable approach or local waterline. Marine Institute station targets retain that provider's names and coordinates. Global sea-level forecast requests favour ocean cells; their own returned grid, coverage, datum and validity limits remain separate from this coastline. A coastline point does not guarantee that sea-level predictions are available. Optional nearby place names use OpenStreetMap / Nominatim under ODbL. A reverse lookup names the nearest mapped object and can differ from an exact shore name. OpenStreetMap attribution: https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright Nominatim reverse API: https://nominatim.org/release-docs/latest/api/Reverse/ Nominatim public service usage policy: https://operations.osmfoundation.org/policies/nominatim/ Moderate submitted searches only; no autocomplete or systematic queries. One request/second is a website-wide aggregate limit, not a per-user allowance. Results must be cached and the application identified. A larger deployment requires its own or an appropriate provider service.
